Adrian Davies BA MSc DipM Prince2
CEO
Our CEO, Adrian, has 35 years experience with working with and investing in SMEs. Supporting local, regional, national and international governments - including government agencies and other economic development bodies - he has developed strategies and programmes that have helped businesses start and grow, helped supply chains flourish, and led to improved productivity across entire business sectors. His work has touched and influenced more than 100,000 businesses, with demonstrable impact on performance: profits, productivity and growth. The legacy of Adrian’s work continues across the globe today.
Alicia Bentley BSc PhD
Principal Consultant
Alicia is an experienced research and evaluation consultant with a strong track record in designing and delivering programmes of research and evaluation for central government departments and their agencies. Alicia joined the team in 2011, with an academic background working with complex data sets, she often leads large-scale quantitative and mixed method studies - designing and implementing appropriate and robust solutions to complex challenges.
Amanda Cassidy BA MA
Research & Evaluation Consultant
Amanda is a skilled researcher with wide ranging experience across a number of policy areas including waste, energy, planning and business productivity. Although at home working with quantitative data, Amanda’s real passion lies in qualitative methodologies. She brings a real ability to engage with respondents on their terms and handle sensitive issues with a light but careful touch, obtaining full and honest answers to probing areas of questioning.

Catherine Field BSc PGCE
Senior Research Executive
Catherine is an experienced, all-round researcher, borne from a strong foundation in both quantitative and qualitative interviewing. Qualitatively, Catherine deals easily with people at all levels and asks questions that makes respondents think and talk. Quantitatively, Catherine demonstrates her analytical skills and critical thinking whilst also ensuring our fieldwork approach and team will best meet our clients research objectives.
Dea Begaj BA MSc
Senior Research Executive
Dea has a strong academic background where she has gained an advanced level of knowledge of research methodologies and analysis techniques. She is experienced in quantitative and qualitative interviewing across a variety of topics including renewable energy, recycling behaviour, and innovation. Dea’s area of expertise is behavioural science; understanding the mental processes that inform human behaviour and decision-making in different contexts, and how they can be appealed to. She applies this knowledge to the development of research instruments and the evaluation of interventions in various fields including sustainability and innovation.

Doros Georgiou BSc MSc
Senior Analyst
Doros’s excellent knowledge of survey methodologies ensures that collected data is of a very high quality. Doros is skilled in quantitative methods, providing new insight to inform the evaluation of a variety of programmes and policies – he is an accomplished modeller and uses complex statistical techniques to interpret trends across large survey datasets.
Francisco Crespo BSc MSc PhD
Senior Research Executive
Francisco is an agile researcher with working experience in both commercial and academic research environments, in Spain, Australia and the United Kingdom. A versatile researcher, Francisco has a strong multidisciplinary educational background, and his data analysis skills are particularly strong. He has also research experience using mixed methods which he has applied across a range of areas including recycling and waste, public health, nutrition, and business support.
Gabija Mieliauskaitė BA
Senior Research Executive
Gabija is a multiskilled all-around researcher, with a background in designing and running research projects in various fields. Gabija has delivered large scale projects within the role of a field manager for clients such as BEIS, DLUHC and the Welsh Government, ensuring our fieldwork teams best meet our client research objectives. An experienced qualitative and quantitative researcher, Gabija has worked on projects spanning across a range of areas which include sustainability, business support, as well as recycling and waste.
Holly Scott BSc Hons
Senior Research Executive
Holly’s background in Psychology has set her up with a strong foundation and passion for research. With skills in quantitative and qualitative methods and analysis, she strives to become an integral part of each of the projects she works on, from interviewing in the field, to handling data, to taking on project management responsibilities. In addition, Holly has a keen interest in psychological and behavioural mechanisms which she aspires to utilise in all aspects of her work, making her a flexible, all-rounded member of the team.
Jessica Wood BA Hons MSc
Research Executive
Jess’ strong academic background in Politics and Public Policy, with a specialisation in Education and International Policy, provided her with a foundation in both qualitative and quantitative research. While working with Winning Moves she has performed research on a wide range of projects including work for ERDF, BDUK, BEIS and InterTrade Ireland. Her empathetic nature and optimism is reflected in her research techniques and work ethic, as well as in her role as our Wellbeing Officer.
John Fawcett BA

John is a highly experienced research and evaluation consultant with a formidable track record in research and evaluation for central government departments and their agencies. John has excellent experience of the full range of research and evaluation methods, designing and leading studies using both traditional and innovative approaches. He has particular skill in synthesising large volumes of evidence into a coherent and compelling narrative.

Karl is an accomplished researcher and evaluator and designs and delivers research and evaluation to aid the development of policy and programmes. As a pragmatic problem solver, he considers client’s research questions in the context of their wider strategic objectives before developing bespoke solutions, often synthesising best practice and innovative approaches.

Kate is an integral part of the software team; she has responsibility for testing new pieces of software. It'll be up to Kate to try as best as she can to ‘break’ it! She brings considerable expertise of working with learners, higher education institutions, government agencies and businesses. Clients appreciate Kate’s flexible nature and prompt resolutions when responding to issues.

Creative Director
Kieran is an accomplished and highly skilled creative who has designed and overseen a multitude of branding and highly innovative creative marketing campaigns for winning moves. His creative designs have been used to promote business support programmes and software products that have engaged thousands of businesses.
Mark Modena MSc Prince2
Products Director
Mark is an experienced Company Director and Business Consultant, having played a variety of roles in the development and growth of Winning Moves over the past 20 years. He has worked with both the public and private sectors in the UK and overseas, developing strategies and delivering support programmes. This work is designed to improve and grow enterprises at all life cycle stages and in multiple sectors. Programmes have included numerous best practice, innovation and enterprise development programmes that have measurably benefitted many thousands of businesses. A specific area of responsibility has been to set up over 40 benchmarking delivery centres globally. Mark has also acquired, exited and invested in several existing and start up enterprises. The experience gained has been invaluable in helping client businesses to overcome challenges and maximise opportunities.
Michelle Hollier BA MPhil
Director of Research and Evaluation
Michelle Hollier is a highly experienced researcher and evaluator with a track record encompassing government programmes, policies and interventions for an international client base for over 15 years. She provides strategic level consultancy and advice in relation to policy and programme evaluation and implementation as well leading research programmes to inform policy and programme design and delivery.
Paul Woodcraft
Research and Evaluation Consultant
Paul joined Winning Moves in April 2019, bringing a 12-year track record in designing, managing and delivering high quality and strategically important research on behalf of government departments, local authorities, charitable organisations and regulators. Paul’s vast work experience has enabled him to develop significant understanding of impact evaluation, survey design and implementation, and the collection and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data using mixed methodologies. He brings a commitment, energy and enthusiasm to his work. Paul offers excellent written communication skills and a track record in writing publishable outputs; his writing is clear, concise and elegant.

Sadia originally started as a telephone researcher at Winning Moves, the past few years as Project Coordinator has given her an excellent foundation of knowledge to take on the role of Project Manager. Always, calm, considered and pragmatic, Sadia ensures that projects are delivered to meet clients' objectives and has worked with government bodies such as the Department for Digital Culture Media & Sport and the UK Space Agency.
Samina Vohra BA Prince2
Projects Operations Manager
As Project Operations Manager Samina is responsible for ensuring all our projects are resourced and are being managed effectively by the teams to be delivered to agreed milestones and overall timetable. As a highly experienced project manager she is proficient at identifying and managing risk and critical path. She has a strong track record of delivering on time and to budget and works on our large, complex or challenging projects with a range of team members and stakeholders, including for DLUHC, BEIS, HRMC, DCMS.
Sarah Gilhooly BA MA PHD
Research & Evaluation Consultant
Sarah has strong research experience and with a background in academic research she has extensive theoretical and practical experience of advanced quantitative data analysis. An allrounder, Sarah is also well versed in qualitative approaches, as well as mixed methodology projects. Sarah has experience across a wide range of policy areas including recycling, waste, circular economy, innovation and business support.
Zoe Wallis LLB Prince2
Director
Zoë is responsible for high quality delivery of our projects and programmes, as well as the day-to-day running of the business. A highly experienced project manager, and driven by success, Zoe has managed projects to the tune of £60m. She has delivered some of Winning Moves’ largest enterprise projects and has been instrumental in developing a robust and quality-controlled delivery infrastructure. Under Zoe’s stewardship, our enterprise projects have delivered significant impact to businesses and to the economy.
