Members of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) were entertained and educated by Mark Modena during an address advocating benchmarking as a tool to drive up organisational performance.
Mark, Director of Products at Winning Moves, was invited to give the key note speech as part of CIMA’s annual programme of events. CIMA is the world’s largest and leading professional body of management accountants. The address, titled: ‘Benchmarking: A science or an art?’, provided CIMA’s members in the South East with insight into the use of benchmarking as a performance management technique; an internationally purported truism (for example Bain and Co, a firm recognised as one of the foremost management consultants in the world, has consistently placed benchmarking in the top 3 global management tools).
Few understand the power of benchmarking better than Mark. As well as being a Director of Global Benchmarking Network, he was a member of the pioneering team at Winning Moves that developed BenchmarkIndex® almost 20 years ago. BenchmarkIndex® is a tool that has been used by hundreds of thousands of businesses throughout the world to assess their performance comparative to others. And due to the unique formula – where a trained business adviser facilitates the assessment – business managers are provided with a tailored report with identified improvement actions, helping them to drive up sustained and impactful business performance.
