Benchmarking and Performance Management can play an important role in supporting strategic change and improvement to meet this challenge. However, existing tools provide only part of the picture. Effective benchmarking has to deliver meaningful insights into those practices that result in tangible performance differences; that is, it must show the causal link between current practices and performance results, to help identify the improvement strategies that need to be pursued.
In essence, our approach provides the ability to answer the 'so what?' question to each of the issues raised by the benchmarking process. This offers an insight into the actions that need to be undertaken and the strategies that need to be adopted to improve performance.
